A deadly incident involving a motorbike and a vehicle occurred Thursday afternoon on the northbound I-215 Motorway near Palm Avenue, necessitating the complete closure of all lanes.
According to California Highway Patrol incident reports, the crash occurred on May 29, 2025, at about 1:12 p.m. and included a grey Ford SUV and a motorcycle.
Initial reports indicated that Caltrans officials were placing cones, and both lanes were stopped.
At 1:14 p.m., a log entry read, “MC RIDER SMASHED UP AGAINST THE CD,” indicating a significant hit. By 1:18 p.m., all lanes had been confirmed as stopped, and a hard closure was requested shortly after.
Evidence towing and coroner services were also dispatched to the area, with the coroner notified at 1:39 p.m.
As of 1:31 p.m., measurements were being taken, and the traffic log indicated that one lane will reopen within 15 minutes.
Southbound traffic on I-215 is backed up to the 215/15 motorway interchange, while northbound traffic is facing delays that extend as far as the 210 motorway.
The motorcyclist’s identity has not yet been released, and the reason for the incident is still under investigation.
