An incident involving a single vehicle that occurred on Interstate 55 in South Mississippi on Tuesday morning resulted in the death of a man from Louisiana.
In accordance with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the collision took place on May 27 at approximately 9:30 in the morning.
On Interstate 55 in Pike County, a 2013 Buick Enclave was driving in the northbound direction when it lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree.
A fatal injury was sustained by the driver, identified as Willie Carter, who was 77 years old and from Kentwood, Louisiana. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
For the time being, the Mississippi Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the reason of the collision.
