(WDNews) – July 24, 2025 — Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea, one of professional wrestling’s most enduring icons, has died at age 71, TMZ reports. Medics were called to his Clearwater home early Thursday morning after a suspected cardiac arrest .
Hogan burst onto the national scene in the 1980s, headlining eight of the first nine WrestleManias and becoming a multiple-time world champion. Hailed as the face of the “Golden Era” of wrestling, he earned a place in the WWE Hall of Fame in both 2005 and 2020 .
In recent weeks, Hogan had undergone neck surgery. His wife Sky previously dismissed rumors that he’d been in a coma, affirming that his heart remained strong .
His manager, Chris Volo, told NBC that Hogan passed away surrounded by family at his home . Fans and fellow wrestlers alike are mourning the loss of the man who helped make wrestling a pop culture phenomenon.
