Jackson County, Florida (WDNews) — Following a high-speed pursuit that resulted in the recovery of about 20 grams of Alpha-PiHP, better known as Flakka or Molly, and more than 2 grams of cocaine, deputies arrested two men Tuesday morning.
Around 6:30 a.m. on June 24, Jackson County deputies and the US Marshals Service were trying to serve a warrant in Grand Ridge when they noticed a car that fit the suspect’s description at the intersection of Highway 69 and Reddoch Road.
The driver escaped when deputies attempted an investigative stop. Deputies saw the driver and passenger reaching into the center console and floorboard during the pursuit. After a while, the car veered into the wrong lane and onto Blue Springs Road. The chase concluded in a wooded location with a PIT maneuver.
Edric Brandon Smith, the passenger, and the driver, Frank Allen White, Jr., were escorted from the vehicle and placed under arrest.
Investigators looking into narcotics claim to have discovered an aluminum can with a fake lid close to the vehicle that contained six baggies of Alpha-PiHP and one baggie of cocaine. They discovered 31 more baggies of Alpha-PiHP and drug packaging supplies inside the vehicle.
White is accused of evading police, tampering with evidence, possessing cocaine, and trafficking in phenethylamines, among other offenses. Possession with intent to distribute is the charge against Smith.
Sheriff Donnie Edenfield declared that Jackson County will not allow the sale of illegal drugs. We’ll keep looking for and apprehending individuals who are spreading this poison throughout our area.
