CHIPLEY, Fla. (WDNews) — Sheriff Kevin Crews said he arrested two individuals and seized over 40 pounds of marijuana and two pounds of methamphetamine Thursday night after an armed disturbance in Washington County.

Around 10:12 p.m. on August 14, deputies were called to a residence on Merry Acres Drive in response to claims of armed, masked people trying to enter a rear shed. A red pickup truck tried to flee the area when police arrived. Antuan J. Odom, 43, of Chipley, and the driver, Jermaine D. Marks, 44, of Caryville, were apprehended.

Odom, a resident of the house who was later identified as a victim of the incident, was discovered with his hands bound behind his back, several bruises, and bleeding from his left eye. Deputies were informed by Marks that Odom had jumped into his car to request assistance.

CCTV footage revealed two masked individuals on the home, one of whom was carrying an AR-style rifle, according to investigators. Additionally, the video saw Marks and Odom leaving the rear of the house. Odom, still in handcuffs, pulling a big transparent bag toward the woods, and Marks with two suitcases.
