WASHINGTON, D.C. (WDNews) — President Donald Trump has declared his intention to appoint three Alabama judges who were suggested by U.S. Senators Tommy Tuberville and Katie Britt to fill U.S. District Court vacancies.
The candidates are Bill Lewis for the Middle District, Harold Hal Mooty for the Northern District, and Edmund Eddie LaCour for the Northern District. The nominations were hailed by both senators as qualified people who will respect the Constitution and the law.
Asserting her strong support for the nominations, Senator Britt, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, emphasized that federal judges must interpret laws as written rather than enact laws from the bench.
She expressed her belief that they will protect Alabamans, respect the judicial oath, and enforce the rule of law.
The selections, according to Senator Tuberville, are exceptional and will contribute to the upholding of law and order in Alabama’s courts.
According to Tuberville, all of these nominees are dedicated to bringing law and order back and making sure that everyone in Alabama can live in safety.
