He made his comments during a White House AI Summit, stressing the need for sensible policies to maintain American competitiveness in cutting-edge technologies.

The president issued three executive orders to advance artificial intelligence in the United States. As essential infrastructure for enabling AI models, the first directive instructs government agencies to expedite the approval process for new data centers.
According to the government, a second directive encourages the sale of American AI technologies overseas in an effort to uphold American leadership in the field.
The third order lays out guidelines to guarantee that the federal government uses AI in an ideologically neutral manner. According to the administration, the purpose of this directive is to stop political or social bias from spreading in AI models that are created or purchased by the government.
Trump stressed the need for models that produce truthful, objective findings and opposed what he called “woke AI.”
He stated that we do not wish to introduce critical racial theory and wokeism into these structures.
The president also warned that fragmented policies might impede innovation and urged for a single federal norm on AI legislation to avoid disparate laws across the 50 states.
Trump highlighted the need for more intelligent regulation that promotes growth without needless obstacles while praising American tech titans throughout his speech.
He stated that since this is a technological revolution, we must make sure that our regulations are more intelligent than the technology.
