Troy, Alabama (WDNews) — All three men implicated in the July 20 shooting incident in Troy that killed the suspect and two victims have been identified by authorities.

Before killing himself, 23-year-old Troy resident Johnathan Rayvon Williams shot and killed two people, according to the Troy Police Department. Christopher C. Stanford, 42, of Ozark, and Aquantis K. Thomas, 33, of Troy, have been identified as the victims.

According to the inquiry, Williams broke into a house on the 100 block of New Street at approximately 10:25 p.m. He shot Stanford inside and killed him.

Williams left the house and came upon Thomas seated in a gray Nissan Altima parked close by. Williams allegedly shot Thomas, took him out of the car, and then drove off in the Altima, according to the police.

Soon later, officers found the stolen car on North Three Notch Street close to Needmore Road. Williams had a proven self-inflicted gunshot wound when he was discovered dead in the driver’s seat.

Investigators believe that no past relationship between Williams and the victims has been found, and that the purpose behind the shootings is yet unknown.

The Troy Police Department encourages anyone with more information to get in touch with the police as they continue their investigation.
