DOTHAN, AL (WDNews) — On Saturday, July 19, the historic Dothan Opera House will host the first-ever Circle Sessions, a live singer-songwriter competition that will showcase some of the Southeast’s most promising up-and-coming musicians.

The event, which is sponsored by Mitchell Automotive, promises to be an evening of unadulterated creativity and original music as six professional musicians vie for a $5,000 prize.

Andrew Vinson, Anna Wescoat, Chancellor Lawson, Cheyloe Martin, Jared Daws, and the duet Uptonogood are among the featured performers.

Tickets can be purchased at www.DothanOperaHouse.com for $10.The reasonable cost, according to the organizers, is intended to fill the venue and provide the community with an opportunity to take part in something unique. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The Circle Sessions’ organizers say it’s a forum to showcase songwriting as a craft and introduce fans to the next generation of musical voices, not just a competition.

Visit Dothan, Durden Outdoor Displays, Inc., Sole Play Bama, and ticketing partner Tixr are the event’s sponsors.
