DOTHAN, AL (WDNews) On Saturday, August 16, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., the 2025 Susan Morrison Memorial Scholarship Benefit will take place at The Royale by Southern Hospitality in Cowarts, hosted by Our Community, Inc. (OCI), a nonprofit affiliate of the Dothan Housing Authority.
The scholarship’s goal of giving residents and clients of the Dothan Housing Authority access to educational opportunities is highlighted by this year’s theme, Legacy & Learning. The program’s goal is to encourage participants to see housing as a first step in bettering their lives and ending intergenerational poverty cycles.
A fundraising auction, live music, and a carefully planned dining experience will all be part of the semi-formal evening. The money raised will help local students pursue higher education.
The scholarship fund, according to its organizers, celebrates Susan Morrison’s legacy by educating and empowering future generations. According to the event materials, your presence will contribute to giving our young people better futures and long-lasting opportunities.
The Royale may be found in Cowarts at 6340 E. U.S. Highway 84. It is possible to reserve seats in advance.
