Dothan, Alabama (WDNews) During a ceremony on the hospital campus Tuesday morning, Southeast Health was formally recognized a Regional Best Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for 2025 2026.
With a ranking spanning 15 adult specialties and 22 treatments and ailments, Southeast Health is classified among the top 13% of hospitals reviewed nationally out of roughly 4,400.
According to Rick Sutton, president and CEO of Southeast Health, this initiative is proof of what can be achieved when community partners unite behind a common goal. I’m pleased to inform you today that we’ve made a major advancement in that direction.
Sutton stressed that rather than being determined by marketing campaigns or bought recognition, the award is based on objective metrics including nursing care levels, mortality rates, and avoidable complications.
According to Sutton, they are not honors that we actively sought for or bought. They approached us, praising us for our superior patient care and results.
Additionally, the hospital was named High Performing in 11 specialty areas, more than twice as many as the previous year. This underscored the commitment of Southeast Health’s doctors, nurses, AVPs, clinicians, and support staff, according to Sutton.
According to him, this type of acknowledgment shows how dedicated a team is to giving each patient their best effort. You dedicate yourself daily to serving our patients and our community because you think every patient deserves the best care, not for accolades or acclaim.
Additional speeches from medical professionals who considered the hospital’s mission and community-driven impact were included in the program.
Dr. George Narby stated that Southeast Health’s mission is to prevent illness, encourage healing, educate the best medical minds, and provide wealth and well-being to the area. We are all taken by that art.
The medical personnel, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, environmental services, nutritionists, and other staff members who work behind the scenes and contribute to patient care and outcomes received special praise.
Sutton concluded by saying, “What each of you do for this organization makes today great.” Southeast Health is what it is because of you.
