DOTHAN, AL (WDNews) — Dothan Leisure Services has announced that, in order to enhance the boardwalk, a section of the Forever Wild Trails will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, August 11 at 6 a.m.
Due to the closing of Connector B (500s boardwalk) close to marks 500, 510, and 520, the following trails from the North and West Trailheads are no longer accessible:
-
600s Zion Cemetery Ridge
-
700s Big Levee and Big Levee Advanced
-
800s / S.A.M. s Creekside Trail
The East Trailhead, which is off Fortner Street, will continue to provide access to these sites.
Beaver Tail Flats, Connector A, Stagecoach Plateau, Wall Ride Loop, Dragon’s Tail, and Dragon’s Tail Advanced are among the trails on the west side of the map that will continue to be accessible from the North and West Trailheads.
To protect both visitors and construction workers, visitors are advised to heed all posted instructions and stay away from areas that are closed.
According to Dothan Leisure Services, the improvements are meant to improve the well-liked trail system’s long-term usability and infrastructure. After the work is finished, a reopening date will be communicated.
