Road Closures and Parking Changes for United Way Fireworks Night at Rip Hewes

Published On:

Dothan, Ala. (WDNews) The United Way Night and Fireworks Spectacular at Rip Hewes Stadium is anticipated to draw large crowds on Saturday, July 5, which may cause significant traffic problems.

To maintain traffic and safety, the City of Dothan will temporarily close a number of surrounding streets. Agutha Drive, Yorktown Road, Southland Drive, Glenwood Street, and Deborah Street will all be closed beginning early on Saturday. Parking on the street will not be permitted in such locations.

Additionally, crossover traffic between the visitor and residential parking lots will be restricted by the city.

Around 8:00 p.m., when the fireworks show concludes, a changed traffic pattern will take effect. All cars must travel in the specified direction on roads that are indicated with arrows on the official traffic map, which will become one-way exits.

It is recommended that attendees study traffic maps beforehand and factor in additional travel time. These precautions are taken to guarantee everyone’s safety and a seamless conclusion to the evening’s festivities.
