Montgomery, Alabama (WDNews) – A lieutenant in the Alabama Department of Corrections has been detained and charged with selling significant amounts of marijuana and methamphetamine as part of a prison contraband ring.
After a significant ADOC investigation into illegal drug and contraband smuggling at St. Clair Correctional Facility, Lt. Calvin Bush was placed under arrest. Significant amounts of illegal goods and drugs were found as a result of the arrest.
About eight pounds of meth, nineteen pounds of marijuana, and hundreds of grams of additional substances, including crack cocaine, flakka precursor powder, and synthetic cannabinoids, were found during a search of Bush’s home on July 31, according to agents. In addition, investigators discovered two cellular hotspots, 156 cell phones, and nine Oxycodone pills.

According to reports, a linked search turned up even more drugs, including 2.5 pounds of marijuana and 60 grams of meth.
Bush has been put on forced leave while his termination is processed by the Alabama Department of Corrections. The investigation is still ongoing, according to ADOC narcotics agents.
