DOTHAN, AL (WDNews) — A guy was reported deceased at Johnson Homes early Monday morning following a suspected shooting.
Around 5:05 a.m., Dothan 911 received a call about a firearm assault, but the caller was originally unsure of the victim’s precise location. Houston County Sheriff’s deputies and many Dothan Police officers arrived on the scene.
The caller eventually called back and claimed the victim was supposedly inside Apartment 76, according to dispatch reports.
A man who looked to have been shot in the chest was found by the officers. Police said Dothan Fire Engine 5 and Pilcher Ambulance were given permission to enter the area after it was secured. According to reports, emergency personnel concluded the victim was dead.
Along with detectives and crime scene staff, Dothan Police Chief Will Benny and Major Will Glover arrived on the site.
According to several sources, Johnny Jaquadious Oliver, 28, was the victim. But his name hasn’t been formally released by the authorities.
The inquiry is still under progress.
