Man Faces Charges of Rape After Allegedly Offering Mother Drugs in Return for the Child

A guy has been charged of raping an elementary school-aged child in return for methamphetamine for her mother.

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, a youngster alleged sexual abuse by Thomas L. Gibbs Jr. in April of last year. The victim claimed that between the ages of three and twelve, her mother allowed individuals to sexually abuse her in exchange for methamphetamine. One of the males was recognised as Gibbs.

During the interrogation, the victim described Gibbs’ trailer, where he allegedly manufactured methamphetamines. She then recounted an incident in which Gibbs allegedly raped her when she was about 7 or 8 years old.

Investigators stated that when the girl was older, her grandmother was appointed guardian and she was removed from the situation. Following that, she began to talk about what had happened to her, which was reported to therapists and investigators.

Throughout the year-long investigation, many witnesses identified Gibbs as being at the victim’s home when she claimed to have been assaulted.

Gibbs was arrested on May 7 at his residence. When he learned that his arrest was due to his relationship with the victim, he quickly demanded a counsel.

Gibbs remains in jail on a $250,000 bond. His next hearing is on June 4.
