DOTHAN, AL (WDNews) — The Dothan Houston County Library System (DHCLS) is extending an invitation to young artists to participate in a unique competition that could result in the distribution of their artwork to children throughout the Wiregrass.

The Youth Library Card Art Contest is accessible to all DHCLS patrons aged 0 to 18 and runs until Friday, August 29, 2025. The new children’s library card for the library system will have the winning design on it.

I Love My Library is this year’s theme! Original artwork can be submitted online or in person, and contest entry forms are available at all DHCLS sites. The deadline for all entries is August 29 at 6 p.m.

The competition, according to library authorities, is a means of promoting young people’s involvement with their local libraries and honoring local artistic talent.

Visit the library’s website or any DHCLS branch for additional information on how to get involved.
