DOTHAN, AL (WDNews) – On June 28 and 29, the Wiregrass Amateur Radio Club, which was founded in 1986, will have its annual Field Day at Northside Methodist Academy in Dothan.

Field Day is an open house for amateur radio that offers live radio demonstrations, emergency communication drills, and an opportunity to learn more about how amateur radio operates. All ages are welcome, and the event is free and family-friendly.

Charles Woodall, a member of the Wiregrass Amateur Radio Club, stated that this is the ideal moment for anyone who wants to observe how ham radio operates.

Ham Radio: What Is It?

Ham radio, sometimes referred to as amateur radio, is a pastime that enables people to connect with people locally or globally using radio frequencies. Public service, emergency communications, and fostering communal ties are among its frequent uses, particularly in the event that other systems malfunction.

In addition to being useful in an emergency, ham radio is an entertaining way to pick up new skills.
