EUFAULA, Ala. (WDNews)
— Wallace Community College-Sparks Campus is offering a lineup of free summer training programs through the Alabama Community College System’s (ACCS) Skills for Success initiative, aimed at equipping residents with hands-on experience for in-demand careers.
The non-credit courses, held at the Eufaula campus, begin June 23 and run through July 22. The schedule includes training in high-demand trades such as Fiber Optics, Mental Health, Construction, and Heavy Equipment Operation.
The summer schedule kicks off June 23–24 with Fiber Optics Technician and Installer Training, followed by Skid Steer Training on July 7–8, and Asphalt Roller instruction on July 9. Other offerings include Mental Health Worker Training, Electrical and Carpentry Helper courses—with evening options—and Bulldozer and Excavator Training.
The Skills for Success program was developed by the ACCS Innovation Center to help close the workforce gap in Alabama. It provides rapid, industry-recognized training in partnership with community colleges and employers.
