Dothan, Ala. (WDNews) Making it easier than ever to obtain this life-saving drug, the Jefferson County Health Department is now mailing free Narcan nasal spray to citizens throughout Alabama.
Narcan, sometimes referred to as naloxone, is used to counteract opioid overdoses and, if administered promptly, can restore normal breathing. Anyone can give the nasal spray in an emergency because it is easy to use.
A how-to video that provides detailed instructions on how to use the spray correctly may be found on the Alabama Department of Public Health’s website to assist educate the public.
Anyone in Alabama, especially those who could be around people who are at risk of overdosing, can request Narcan by mail for free. Vital Alabama also offers fentanyl test strip instruction and training.
