– The City of Enterprise is mourning the loss of former Police Chief T.D. Jones, who passed away over the weekend following an extended illness.
Chief Jones served the Enterprise Police Department with distinction for 22 years, retiring in 2020. His law enforcement career spanned more than four decades, beginning with the Montgomery Police Department before he brought his leadership and dedication to Enterprise in the late 1990s.
“Chief Jones dedicated more than 40 years of his life to law enforcement, including over two decades of faithful service to the City of Enterprise, Mayor William “Bill” Cooper said in a heartfelt statement. “He was a steady leader for our police department, a devoted public servant, and above all, a family man who cared deeply about this community.”
His impact will be felt for years to come, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and served alongside him.”
The city extends its deepest condolences to the Jones family, his friends, and fellow officers during this time of loss.
