HOUSTON COUNTY, AL (WDNews) – From 4:19 p.m. until Tuesday evening, August 5, a Flood Watch is in effect for a large portion of southeast Alabama, including areas of north Florida and southwestern Georgia, as well as Houston, Dale, Geneva, Coffee, and Henry counties.
The Tallahassee National Weather Service reports that the region is still at risk of flash floods due to severe rainfall. Rainfall is predicted to increase by 1 to 3 inches, with isolated locations potentially receiving up to 5 to 8 inches, particularly in areas where the ground is already wet from storms over the weekend.
Flooding could happen in:
-
Streams, creeks, and rivers
-
Poor drainage in urban areas
-
Low-lying or areas vulnerable to flooding

Authorities advise locals to keep an eye on advisories and steer clear of flooded roads. Debris can choke ditches and storm drains, increasing the danger of flooding.
Keep an eye on the weather and be ready for any flash flooding, particularly if you live in a region that has already experienced a lot of rain.
