Montgomery, Alabama (WDNews) Two suspects, including a man from Enterprise, Alabama, have pleaded guilty and one suspect has been sentenced to jail as a result of a federal investigation into a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.
James Walker of Enterprise, 35, allegedly plotted with Shanarion Lee, 32, of La Mesa, California, and Hillary Lewis, 32, of Lemon Grove, California, to transport fentanyl-laced pills from California to addresses in Alabama, according to court documents.
When the FBI and U.S. Postal Inspection Service discovered a trafficking network delivering fake oxycodone tablets containing fentanyl in March 2023, the investigation got underway. The years 2023 and 2024 saw the interception of numerous parcels.
Lee was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl on July 31, 2025, and given a sentence of 46 months in federal prison and five years of supervised release. In 2025, he entered a guilty plea on March 26.
Earlier this year, Walker and Lewis also entered guilty pleas to federal narcotics conspiracy counts. In the upcoming months, their sentence hearings will take place.
The FBI, the Enterprise Police Department, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service all looked into the case. The prosecution is led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Markovits.
