Enterprise Declares July as Park and Recreation Month

ENTERPRISE, AL. (WDNews) In recognition of the vital role parks and recreational facilities play in enhancing quality of life, Mayor William E. Cooper, Sr. declared July 2025 to be Park and Recreation Month in Enterprise.

Since the beginning, my administration and the City Council have prioritized parks and recreational facilities because we understand their importance for families, wellbeing, and fostering a sense of community, Mayor Cooper stated. Our goal is to build facilities that will benefit Enterprise’s citizens for many decades to come.

The nationwide celebration highlights the ways that parks, programs, and employees support mental and physical well-being, stimulate active living, and offer areas where people of all ages can interact with one another and the natural world.

The commitment of the personnel was commended by Blake Moore, Director of Community Services and Recreation.

According to Moore, our staff at Enterprise Parks & Recreation is unmatched. This is more than just a job to our employees. They take great delight in what they do, whether it’s mowing the lawn at one of our parks or assisting with the planning of a citywide event. Working with a group of experts that are so driven to creating a better enterprise makes me proud.

Cooper also emphasized the new Recreation and Aquatics Center and other recent expenditures made by the city.

We opened the brand-new, cutting-edge Recreation and Aquatics Center just a few months ago, he remarked. Fitness classes, daily visits, and memberships have all demonstrated our citizens’ strong dedication to leading active, healthy lives. Numerous tournaments have already been held here, and on many days, the sounds of kids playing and laughing fill the pool. This investment was obviously the right one for our community.

Improvements are continuing, according to Landon Adams, superintendent of Enterprise Parks & Recreation.

At the Enterprise Sports Complex, we’ve installed additional multipurpose fields and renovated a number of parks, Adams said. A walking route, new playground equipment, and an outdoor fitness court are among the upcoming attractions, along with the installation of new sand volleyball courts. Every day, pickleball players use our courts, frequently anticipating their turn with great anticipation. The services and opportunities provided by Enterprise Parks and Recreation are obviously very important to our community, and we are honored to be able to give them.

Cooper also praised the Parks and Recreation staff for their dedication to the community at large.

In addition to maintaining our parks and facilities and managing recreation programs, our Parks and Recreation team is always available to assist with events throughout the city, he said. They are the best team players, whether they are helping out at Civic Center events, setting up at the Farmers Market, or assisting with events downtown and beyond. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment and hard work on behalf of Enterprise’s citizens.

Throughout the month, both locals and tourists are invited to enjoy the parks and participate in events that promote a healthier and more cohesive community.
