Dothan Man Injured After Leading Police on High-Speed Chase, Allegedly Flipping Vehicle

DOTHAN, AL (WDNews) — Late Friday night, a suspect allegedly tried to elude an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) trooper on Highway 431, resulting in a high-speed pursuit that culminated in a wreck and critical injuries.

At at 11:51 p.m., ALEA Troopers called for emergency dispatch in response to a critical injury collision near the intersection of Denton Road and Flynn Road, according to Dothan 911.

According to reports, the trooper made an attempt to pull over the suspect’s car. But the driver allegedly accelerated and ran away from the scene rather than stopping.

The suspect turned onto Denton Road after continuing south on Westgate Parkway. The suspect allegedly lost control and flipped the automobile off the road as it approached Flynn Road.

The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention after Dothan Police, Dothan Fire, and Pilcher Ambulance reacted to the collision.

The incident is still being investigated.
