Burney Sisters to Kick Off Dothan’s New Park Concert Series June 18

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) – The City of Dothan is launching a brand-new Park Series this summer, bringing live music and visual arts to local outdoor spaces, starting with a free concert by The Burney Sisters on Wednesday, June 18, at Solomon Park.

The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. and marks the first installment of what city officials hope will become an annual tradition. The Park Series will feature multiple family-friendly shows throughout the year in locations like Solomon and Porter Parks.

The Burney Sisters, a folk and indie-soul duo from Huntsville, will headline the first show. Known for their heartfelt lyrics and rich harmonies, sisters Emma and Bella Burney have toured across the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean.

In addition to the music, the event will include live art demonstrations by Art In Public Places, combining music and visual arts in a community celebration.

“The event is free to the public and suitable for all ages,” the city said. “Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic snacks to fully enjoy the relaxed and welcoming park setting.”

The Park Series is a partnership between the City of Dothan and the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
