Jackson County, Fla. (WDNews) – Following a multi-county pursuit that started in the area of Bascom, Florida, and extended into Houston County, Alabama, a suspected burglar was taken into custody on Friday.

On July 25, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an ongoing burglary. When they arrived, they saw a white male suspect walking away from the area. The suspect got into a car and drove away in defiance of shouted orders to stop.

After that, there was a chase across Jackson County roads and into Alabama. Deputies used a pursuit intervention tactic near Gordon Road and Highway 2 to safely end the chase after the suspect eventually returned to Jackson County.

The suspect was apprehended without any problems. There are still several charges pending in connection with the break-in and pursuit.

The Sneads Police Department and the Houston County Sheriff’s Office were commended by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for their support.
