Armed Suspect on the Run After Officer Shot in Jackson County Alabama

Scottsboro, Alabama (WDNews) — Following the shooting death of a Scottsboro police officer on Saturday, a statewide Blue Alert has been issued, leading to a large manhunt for an armed suspect in Jackson County.

Daniel Victor McCarn, a 29-year-old Huntsville resident, is being sought by authorities. According to the description, he is a Caucasian male who is 5 10 and weighs 170 pounds. He has brown eyes and hair. McCarn is deemed dangerous and armed, according to ALEA.

The shooting occurred on July 26th, a Saturday. McCarn ran away on foot and was last seen close to County Park Road and U.S. Highway 72. It is advised that locals stay away from the area.

ALEA’s State Bureau of Investigation, Highway Patrol Division, and federal partners such as the FBI, U.S. Marshals, and ATF are among the authorities now participating in the search.

Do not approach McCarn and dial 911 right away if you see him or know where he is.
