Alleged Repeat Arsonist Arrested After Setting Pansey Home Ablaze

Pansey, Ala. (WDNews) –


A Houston County man is behind bars after allegedly setting fire to a mobile home in Pansey on Saturday, June 15.


while an elderly woman was reportedly asleep inside.


The blaze broke out around 5:50 p.m. at 79 N. Lindburg Road. Smoke could be seen from Ashford as multiple fire departments rushed to the scene.


Crews found  the home fully engulfed in flames and quickly took action to protect a nearby trailer that was beginning to take heat damage. According to sources, an elderly woman was allegedly inside the neighboring trailer.


Authorities arrested 39-year-old Joshua Drew Ingle in connection with the fire. Ingle was booked into the Houston County Jail at 5:00 p.m. and is facing multiple charges, including:


  • Arson 2nd degree – $30,000 bond

  • Arson 3rd degree – $6,000 bond

  • Criminal Mischief 1st degree – $15,000 bond


His total bond was set at $51,000.


This is not Ingle’s first arson-related arrest. Records show he was previously charged with two counts of 2nd degree arson on May 3, 2024.


No injuries were reported in Saturday’s fire.
