MONTGOMERY, AL (WDNews) — This week, the Alabama Forestry Association (AFA) announced that Anna Morgan Skipper has been promoted to the position of Director of External Affairs.

Prior to joining AFA in 2021, Skipper was the Grassroots Coordinator. In that capacity, she cultivated connections with public officials on behalf of the forestry community and contributed to the growth of a robust statewide network of forestry advocates.

According to AFA General Counsel Tom Saunders, Anna Morgan has played a key role in developing one of Alabama’s most successful grassroots and lobbying initiatives. Her achievement in the field of public policy has come right away because of her intuition and her capacity to comprehend the issues and articulate AFA’s ideas clearly.

Skipper, a native of Clarke County, received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Alabama. She currently resides in Montgomery with her spouse, Edward Skipper, who works as a forester for the Monroeville-based Harrigan Lumber Company.

Chris Isaacson, the president and CEO of AFA, commended Skipper’s services to the organization, pointing to her charm, wit, and perseverance as the main factors in her success.

In her new position, Skipper and Saunders will continue to work together to oversee AFA’s political affairs and legislative initiatives.

The forestry industry in the state, which generates over $36 billion in revenue yearly, is represented by a wide spectrum of members in the Alabama Forestry Association.
