DOTHAN, AL (WDNews) — Local horse owners are urged to participate in the 2026 Calendar Photo Contest, which is currently accepting entries for the opportunity to have their equine featured.
The public is welcome to enter the contest, and each shot costs only $5. After uploading a photo of their horse, participants can encourage friends and family to cast their votes. Voting is done online on the contest page and costs $1 per vote. The official 2026 calendar for the refuge will include the 12 images that received the most votes.

The care and rehabilitation of rescued horses in the Wiregrass region will be funded in full by the contest’s proceeds.
