Enterprise, Ala. (WDNews) As workers complete the last stage of a significant restoration project, Enterprise City Hall will be closed to the public on Thursday, July 31, and Friday, August 1.
Workers will be able to safely build a new entry canopy and resurface the nearby parking lots during the closure. During the project, Mill Avenue will also be closed, and barricades will be placed in front of all public parking. Traffic control will be aided by Enterprise Police.
“Safety is our top priority, even though this closure may be inconvenient and we did not make this decision lightly,” stated Mayor William E. Cooper. We can complete the renovation quickly and minimize the overall impact on our inhabitants by closing city hall during this brief window and carrying on with work through the weekend.
The building is scheduled to fully reopen on Monday, August 4, following a four-day construction period. City employees will still be reachable via phone and email during the building’s closure. For utility bills and fines from municipal courts, residents are encouraged to use online services.
Although it won’t be a drive-thru, the drop box on Erin Street will stay operational.
This last action is a component of a larger commitment to enhance service, safety, and accessibility for all visitors to Enterprise City Hall. Barry Mott, the city engineer, stated.
On Monday, August 11 at 9 a.m., the city will hold a grand reopening and ribbon cutting to commemorate the completion.
“This renovation is a major milestone for our city and has been planned for years,” Mayor Cooper continued. We are pleased to fulfill our title as The City of Progress and provide the residents of Enterprise with these long-overdue upgrades.
For non-emergencies, call the Enterprise Police Department at 334-347-2222 for help during the closure. In case of an emergency, call 911.
Updates will be shared on the city’s social media accounts and at www.enterpriseal.gov.
