Enterprise, Ala. (WDNews) – The City of Enterprise is reminding residents to take advantage of Alabama’s annual Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday, happening Friday, July 18 through Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday and ending at midnight on Sunday, shoppers can buy qualifying school-related items without paying state sales tax. The tax-free weekend gives families a break as they prepare for the new school year.
Items eligible for the exemption include:
Clothing priced at $100 or less per article
School supplies up to $50 per item
Books priced at $30 or less
Computers and educational tech with a price tag of $750 or less
While residents are shopping, they’re also encouraged to help others. The Enterprise Police Department is collecting extra school supplies for local students in need. Donations can be dropped off in collection bins at the Enterprise City Hall and Police Department lobby.
The Enterprise City Council officially opted in to the holiday back in May, agreeing to waive local sales tax on eligible purchases to match the state exemption.
Local businesses in Downtown Enterprise are also joining the effort by offering deals and discounts throughout the weekend.
