GENEVA, Ala. (WDNews) –

For the first time in history, a boys’ baseball team from Geneva has clinched the state title and is headed to the big stage.

The Geneva Panther 8U DYB Division II All-Stars are the 2025 Alabama State Champions and will soon represent the state at the DYB World Series in Dunn, North Carolina.

The team went undefeated in bracket play, proving themselves as fierce competitors and earning their spot as Alabama’s No. 1 team. But now, the real challenge of getting there begins.

The All-Stars are asking for community support to help cover the travel and lodging expenses needed to make this dream a reality. Donations are being accepted through Venmo at @Alabama-8U, and a public Facebook group has also been launched:

“They need help to be able to reach their dreams,” team supporter, Kimberly Cobb, said. “These boys worked hard.”
