Trail Life USA Troop Launching in New Brockton with August 17 Open House

Alabama’s New Brighton. In New Brockton, a brand-new Trail Life USA troop is starting up, providing boys in kindergarten through the twelfth grade with an adventure program based around Christ. Families in the area are now being encouraged to join Troop AL-1240, which will be stationed at Bethany Baptist Church.

The church on County Road 531 will have an Open House on Sunday, August 17 at 6:00 p.m. Families will get the opportunity to meet troop leaders, find out more about the program, and discuss ways their sons can participate at this public event.

According to Troop Ministry Liaison Charles Sewell, Trail Life is about developing godly men via outdoor adventure, service, and mentoring. It’s not simply about camping and hiking. We are excited to introduce this program to our community and provide a space for boys to develop their leadership and religion.

A quickly expanding nationwide initiative, Trail Life USA provides a religious substitute for conventional scouting. The curriculum places a strong emphasis on character development via community service and mentoring, biblical principles, and outdoor skills.

The open house does not require registration. To learn more, go to the troop’s Facebook page:
