MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Bargain hunters and government agencies will have the chance to bid on thousands of surplus items during Alabama’s online state auction, which kicks off Saturday, July 12.
Hosted by the Surplus Property Division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), the auction will run from 7:30 a.m. Saturday through 6 p.m. Sunday, July 20. Items up for grabs include boats, vehicles, office furniture, medical equipment, electronics, and more.
To participate, interested bidders must register online at adeca.alabama.gov/publicauctions. Auction listings can be viewed starting Saturday at govdeals.com/alabamasurplus.
The inventory includes property no longer needed by state and federal agencies, as well as unclaimed items voluntarily left at southeastern airports.
In-person viewing and inspection will be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 16 through Friday, July 18, at ADECA’s Surplus Property Division located at 4590 Mobile Highway in Montgomery. Photos of auction items are also available at: flickr.com/photos/adeca.
Items are sold as-is with no guarantees, and all sales are final once property is picked up.
ADECA also notes that surplus items are always available to qualified nonprofits and government entities throughout the year. In addition to surplus programs, ADECA administers a range of grants for law enforcement, victim services, broadband, water, energy conservation, and recreation.
