Dothan Police to Serve at Tip-A-Cop for Special Olympics

(WDNews) DOTHAN, AL — On Tuesday, July 22, Dothan Police Department officers will exchange their badges for aprons as part of the statewide Tip-A-Cop fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse, 3730 Montgomery Highway. From 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., the event takes place.

Local cops will serve as guest servers as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alabama, raising money and tips for the state’s Special Olympics participants.

Children and adults with intellectual impairments can participate in year-round sports competitions and training through the Special Olympics Alabama program. Tip-A-Cop donations support the provision of essential tools and chances that foster inclusion, self-assurance, and success in the lives of participating athletes.

Noting that every dollar earned stays local to help fund athletic programming, organizers extend an invitation to the community to join them for a dinner and show support.
