OZARK, AL (WDNews) – A local organization is extending an invitation to the community to make a difference and create a splash.
The Eagles Rest Organization will conduct the Splash for a Good Cause pool event at the Ozark Community Pool on Friday, July 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donations of hygiene products or nonperishable goods to support the local homeless population are accepted in exchange for free admission.
According to the event’s organizers, it’s an opportunity to have fun this summer while helping those in need. Every item contributed will benefit homeless people and families in the Wiregrass.
Items that are accepted as donations include:

Both toothpaste and toothbrushes

Shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, and deodorant

Shaving cream and razors

Hairbrushes, nail clippers, and feminine hygiene items

Rolls of toilet paper, tissues, and baby wipes

Nonperishable foods and first aid supplies

Granola bars, Ziplock bags, and bottled water

The organizers urge families to assist a neighbor in need, invite a buddy, and cool off in the pool.
