Firework Explosion on Lake Martin Multiple Injuries During July 4th Fireworks Show

WDNews Tallapoosa County, Alabama The Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office reports that several persons were hurt during a Fourth of July fireworks display on Lake Martin on Friday night after a floating dock (fixed) exploded.

At 9:14 p.m., the explosion happened close to the 7280 Highway 49 South bridge in the lake’s Blue Creek neighborhood.

Authorities have acknowledged that there were injuries, but it is yet unclear how many individuals were harmed overall. The scene was visited by at least three medical helicopters.

Although it hasn’t been verified, witnesses claim that the boat in question was being used to launch fireworks between 13 and 15 minutes into the display. Emergency personnel are still responding to the location.
