United Way Night is a massive fireworks display hosted by the Dothan Dragons and ILL Eagle Fireworks. There will be traffic adjustments as a result, which are detailed below.
On Saturday, July 5, the City of Dothan will implement temporary traffic adjustments surrounding Rip Hewes Stadium in anticipation of increased activity in the region.
Dothan Leisure Services reports that no street parking will be permitted on the following side streets, which will be blocked early on Saturday:
Drive Agutha
Yorktown Road
Drive in Southland
Street Glenwood
Deborah Street
Additionally, there will be restrictions on crossover traffic between the visitor and residential parking zones. In addition to following signage and police directives, drivers are encouraged to take detours.
A customized traffic strategy will direct all vehicles through arrow-marked one-way exits after the event, starting at around 8 p.m. Until traffic clears, these routes will stay open.
All locals and event participants are urged by officials to check the official traffic map in advance and factor in additional travel time.
