ENTERPRISE, AL. (WDNews) On July 15, the Catwalk for a Cause charity fashion event will light up the runway at The Rawls Restaurant in Enterprise, bringing together fashion and community spirit.
The performance, which starts at 6 p.m., aims to collect money for Coffee County Family Services, which provides clothing and other necessities to hundreds of local children in preparation for the new school year.
According to Dawn Sabath, head chef at The Rawls and one of the event organizers, this is more than simply a fashion show. It’s an opportunity for our community to unite, honor ingenuity, and significantly impact Coffee County Family Services.
The event, which takes place right before Alabama’s Tax-Free Weekend, will showcase stylish ensembles from nearby downtown businesses, including dresses for mothers, professional ladies, and children’s back-to-school attire.
Visitors will get a goodie bag, walk the red carpet, and take advantage of photo opportunities and entertaining extras all night long.
Seating is limited, and tickets cost $10. The Coffee County Family Services Center (CCFS), which assists low-income families, will receive all revenues.
According to CCFS Executive Director Judy Crowley, the organization anticipates helping about 800 kids this year. According to her, about 100 kids will require school attire, while the remaining kids will get backpacks filled with school materials, socks, shoes, underwear, and toiletries.
With more than 2,600 school-age children in Coffee County living in poverty and more than 350 being categorized as homeless, Crowley said there is a significant need.
According to her, families with low incomes frequently have to make choices like putting food on the table or keeping the lights on. Many families are unable to provide these school supplies because the average school supply list costs $50 per child.
Giving a youngster the tools they need to succeed in school conveys to them that they are important. We’re expecting a lot from you. You’re capable.
Crowley went on to say that a child’s progress in the classroom can be greatly impacted by something as seemingly basic as a pencil and paper.
