TROY: Learn to Handle Deadliest Snakes in the South Aug. 5

Troy, Alabama (WDNews) If you work outside or are a snake enthusiast, this is your opportunity to come up close and learn from the professionals.

On Tuesday, August 5, the Troy University Arboretum will host a special Venomous Snake Training session.

This intense session, which runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., covers everything from snake bite protocols to detecting dangerous snakes. Common non-native species, proper handling and securing techniques for venomous snakes, and what to anticipate when a bite victim arrives at the hospital are among the topics covered.

Anyone is welcome to attend the training, which is being hosted by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. However, pre-registration is necessary, and there is a 25-person maximum.
