(WDNews) Former President Donald Trump claims he has found a buyer for TikTok and will provide additional information in around two weeks.
In an interview that aired on Fox News Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, Trump stated, “By the way, we have a buyer for TikTok.” I believe that I will most likely require China’s approval, which President Xi will most likely grant.
Trump implied that a group of extremely wealthy people are involved, but he did not identify the buyer.
In the past, the former president approved legislation mandating that ByteDance, the Chinese parent firm of TikTok, sell its U.S. operations or risk being banned. Trump issued a 90-day extension earlier this month, allowing ByteDance until September 17 to comply with the most recent deadline, which was June 19.
Until a final deal is authorized and made public, TikTok’s future in the US is still up in the air.
