– President Donald Trump made clear this week that Iran will not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon, warning that the United States is prepared to respond if American troops or interests are attacked.

“They just can’t have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said during a press briefing. He emphasized that while no military action is guaranteed, “the gloves are off” if Iran were to harm U.S. forces.

When asked about the possibility of diplomatic talks, Trump said he may consider sending special envoy, Steve Witkoff, to meet with Iranian officials depending on how events unfold in the coming days.

“It’s certainly possible,” Trump added, noting he is not heavily inclined toward negotiations. “I told them ‘Do the deal’… they should have done the deal.”

Trump also dismissed comments from critics and expressed confidence in the U.S. military’s ability to deter threats, saying, “They know not to touch our troops.”
