PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WDNews) – Authorities are investigating the tragic drowning of a 10-year-old boy that occurred Saturday evening on the east end of Panama City Beach.
According to reports from the Panama City Beach Police, say the incident took place behind Barefoot on the Beach Bar and Grill. The child was pulled from the water and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Beach Safety Director Daryl Paul confirmed that yellow flags were flying at the time, indicating moderate surf conditions according to multiple reports.
“There is an extensive investigation underway to determine exactly what happened,” Paul said.
