DALEVILLE, Ala. (WDNews) —
The Daleville Public Library is inviting the community to help celebrate the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday with a special event this Friday, June 13.
The celebration begins at 10 a.m. with Little Learners Story Time, featuring an Army Birthday theme. Storytime will take place at its usual hour but with a patriotic twist. Families are encouraged to arrive early for a fun-filled morning.
From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., kids will have a chance to meet Captain America, who will be visiting to help mark the occasion.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the library will host a Veterans Pop-In event. All veterans are welcome and eligible to register for door prizes. The public is invited to attend, enjoy light refreshments, and explore Army tribute displays throughout the building.
Free cake, ice cream, coffee, tea, and lemonade will be available all day.
The event is sponsored by Daleville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6020 and the Daleville Public Library Foundation. Families are encouraged to pop in any time during the day.
