– Southeast Health Foundation is teaming up with The Skin Cancer Foundation for a day of free skin cancer screenings and education on Wednesday, June 11.

Screenings will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 1922 Fairview Ave. in Dothan.

The event is part of the Foundation’s Destination Healthy Skin program, which travels the country to provide early detection services and raise awareness about skin cancer. A local volunteer dermatologist and medical students from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) will be on-site performing the checks.

No appointment is needed. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis and walk-ins are encouraged.

Health officials stress that early detection saves lives, and this is an easy way for Wiregrass residents to take a proactive step for their health.
