OKLAHOMA CITY – A knock at the door led to a crime scene in Oklahoma City late Sunday night. At before 11:30 p.m., Thomas Wade III, 24, opened the door to his residence at Northwest 23rd Street and Portland Avenue.
“Two people knocked at the door. Master Sgt. Gary Knight of the Oklahoma City Police Department reported that when the victim answered the door, he was shot.
It was unclear what connection Wade had with the two suspects, but police said they fled after shooting Wade. Wade was dead when authorities arrived on the scene.
Unfortunately, they only located one person. “(A) deceased male,” Knight explained.
Police have not provided a description of the suspects. However, the housing complex has a history of criminal activity.
An employee at a local pharmacy told KOCO that following repeated shootings last year, they put additional cameras and increased security.
According to police records, they have received calls for four assaults with a dangerous weapon, five assaults, and twelve burglaries.
A woman and a child were also present in the flat during the shooting, but it is unclear how they were related to Wade.
“Everyone else in the house is okay. The scene is still fresh. “Officers are investigating,” Knight added.
The police requested anyone with knowledge to contact them.
