DOTHAN, AL (WDNews) The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Community Information Center reports that there are 205 registered sex offenders residing in Dothan’s three main ZIP codes: 36301, 36303, and 36305.
Residents may view the whereabouts of offenders throughout the state thanks to the registry, a public database. At https://communityinformation.alabamainteractive.org/sor, users can access the database. The National Sex Offender Public Website links to almost all U.S. jurisdictions and territories for information outside of Alabama.
Offenders must adhere to stringent reporting and registration requirements under Alabama’s Sex Offender Registration and Community Notification Act, which is described in Title 15, Chapter 20A of the Code of Alabama. The Sex Offender Accountability Program (SOAP), which is implemented by the Dothan Police Department, involves detectives and patrol officers visiting offenders in their homes approximately once a month. The program’s goal is to swiftly detect infractions and confirm compliance.
