Young Man Dies After Losing Control and Crashing Into Rocks on Kelleys Island

A single-vehicle accident that occurred early on Monday morning on Kelleys Island resulted in the death of a guy who was 24 years old.

Approximately two in the morning, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the collision took place on West Lakeshore Drive, which is located west of Huntington Street.

The Office of State Highway Patrol reported that Wesley Finley, a resident of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, was driving west on West Lakeshore Drive when he drove off the left side of the road, colliding with several boulders, a deck, and several metal fence posts before coming to a stop.

The Oregon State Highway Patrol reports that the vehicle overturned and came to a stop half-submerged in the water.

When the accident occurred, OSHP reported that Finley was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. According to OSHP, there is currently no information on the usage of alcohol or drugs.

The collision is still being looked at by authorities.
